  • 125g Devondale Unsalted Butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup golden syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 2 ½ cups plain flour
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp bicarb soda
  • 1 ½ cups icing sugar mixture, sifted
  • 2 tsp Devondale Full Cream Fresh Milk

Step One

Ask an adult to preheat the oven to 180°C. Melt butter, sugar and golden syrup together in the microwave. Stir to combine and cool slightly.

Step Two

Whisk egg and butter mixture in a large bowl. Sift flour, spices and bicarb soda over the butter mixture and mix until combined into a smooth dough. Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.

Step Three

Roll dough into 3cm balls and place onto lined baking trays. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden. Cool completely on trays.

Step Four

Place icing sugar and milk into bowl and milk until slightly runny. Use a teaspoon to drizzle icing over ginger shortbread bites. Enjoy!
